Jim Combs
Deacon, Trustee, CARE Shepherding
Jim has been a member of EMCC since 1991. He and his wife of 31(2016) years, Kandee, came here after attending Palestine Church for many years. Four short years later in 1995, Jim became a Deacon for East Main. And a year after that he volunteered to become a Trustee and head up the CARE Shepherding Ministry.
His favorite thing about being a Deacon is serving the Lord. He does so through shepherding the flock at EMCC and also through maintaining the building for the congregation. Jim is the go-to handy man but also the go-to Bible man. He certainly knows his stuff!
Jim’s favorite verse is 1 Corinthians 10:31 - So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
Nick Combs
Deacon
Nick is the newest and youngest of the leaders at East Main Church of Christ. His family started coming to the church in 1991 when Nick was only 5 years old. Nick and his wife, Stephanie have been married since 2009. In 2013, after growing up at EMCC, Nick stepped up to the role of Deacon.
His favorite thing about EMCC is the family. As mentioned above, Nick grew up in this church and has strong, familial relationships with many other members. He likes that East Main is a smaller church. Nick feels that it really helps us become closer to each other and closer to God.
Nick’s favorite verse is Matthew 6:34 ¬ - Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
